Meet Emma, a 6 year old, female spayed Cocker Spaniel, our May Pet of the Month. Emma injured her L cruciate in early March, but she wasn't a surgical candidate because of some other medical conditions that were under control (she also had a history of immune mediated hemolytic anemia (IMHA) and immune mediated thrombocytopenia (ITP). As a result, the discomfort caused by her sore L knee was troublesome. She came to us to work on some pain management options and some muscle strengthening. She did great with her rehab therapy and homework, but her leg was still bothering her, so she was casted for a stifle orthosis to help stabilize her knee and get her back to having some fun for the upcoming summer months.
