Meet Heckel, our October Pet of the Month. He is an 8 year old, Australian Cattle Dog mix, who has been coming to see us most recently for post-operative rehabilitation therapy after TTA (Tibial Tuberosity Advancement) surgery to stabilize his L stifle after rupturing his cruciate ligament. He has been progressing nicely through his rehab program and we have been increasing the difficulty of his exercises so that he can get back to enjoying life again and potentially returning to competition.
Heckel has visited us previously for core strengthening and conditioning to keep him in peak performance. Additionally, he has some arthritic changes in his back and has had iliopsoas strains in the past, so that makes his regular exercise program along with warm-ups & cool-downs even more important. Heckel is looking forward to graduating from rehab and getting back to the fun stuff.
