Meet Fiona, our July 2018 Pet of the Month. Fiona is a 1 year old Lagotto Romagnolo, an uncommon breed which is the only purebred dog in the world recognized as a specialized truffle searcher. She came to see us in April of 2018 for rehabilitation options following surgery to correct bilateral patella luxation.
During her rehabilitation program, Fiona was prescribed therapeutic exercises, underwater treadmill, massage, PEMF therapy and class IV laser therapy. She excelled with her exercises and loved working with us at her visits. She and her family worked regularly on her homework exercises between her rehab sessions. She graduated from her rehabilitation visits in June 2018. Since her graduation, we have been seeing Fiona for fitness sessions.
During her fitness visits, she receives new exercises to help maintain her muscle mass and improve her overall stamina and movement to keep her in optimal body condition. Fiona has recently been introduced to exercises using canine conditioning equipment for at home use. She continues to excel at home and at her fitness visits at Pawsitive Steps!
